As we embark on a new and exciting year, we want to thank you personally for the great support that you gave to the John Gilmore Riley Center/Museum for African American History & Culture, Inc. throughout 2013. We are very appreciative and grateful that because of your support, we have been able to maintain our community enrichment programs and keep the historic Riley House open so that visitors near and far, can experience this Tallahassee treasure!
Because of you, our Annual Holiday Rock-a-Thon was great success and our new Riley Visitors Center is making a world of difference by providing much needed administrative and exhibit space. We also hosted a week-long grand opening celebration, that included the Smokey Hollow Reunion, debuted our latest publication, Times Remembered and provided a cultural immersion experience, known as Blended Lives to 2,500 fourth-graders attending Leon County Schools. We are honored to have been the recipient of 13 original Highwaymen Paintings that continue to garner statewide attention as well as our latest exhibit, They Led the Way, which chronicles the first 8 students to integrate the local school system 50 years ago.
We look forward to the continued growth of our programs and services in 2014. Again, thank you for your support and all the best this holiday season and throughout the New Year!
